Nurses are the heartbeat of the health system, keeping things ticking with their hard work, commitment, and dedication to the care of others every day. Nurses are the biggest advocates for health, with their roles ranging from rehabilitation to providing care and support.
At Bethany women’s hospital, our nurses are with you throughout your journey with us. This year’s Nurses’ Day theme was ‘A Voice to Lead – Invest in Nursing and respect rights to secure global health’, stressing that there is a need to protect, support, and invest in our nurses in order to strengthen the systems at Bethany. As we aim to become a benchmark for women’s health and their families, we look after our very own family which we do through various ways such as team-building activities with the aim to increase communication, planning skills, employee motivation, and collaboration to influence our impeccable service delivery every day.
Nurses’ Day
“The Lady with the Lamp” it must have been of great joy to have a glimpse of that care that would come with the lady of the lamp. Florence Nightingale and English nurses rewrote the Nursing person globally.
This is why we celebrate International Nurses Day around the world every May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth to mark the contributions that nurses make to society across the globe.
International Nurses commemorates this important day each year with the production and distribution of the International Nurses’ Day (IND) resources and evidence
This year the theme was” A Voice to Lead – Invest in Nursing and respect rights to secure global health.“
Bethany women’s and family hospital is one of those facilities that greatly depends on a well-trained selfless Nursing team to run its operations. Bringing new beings on this earth requires a lot of care and keenness that is greatly emulated in our nursing team. So many young mothers indeed need an extra eye and care that is beyond the ordinary. This is why at Bethany such a day is not taken lightly.
At Bethany women’s hospital, we celebrated in style by celebrating nurses’ day at Spena Beach to relax and rekindle the child at heart.
The day began at 9 am with the nursing team departing the hospital grounds to the venue. On arrival the day kicked off with different activities across the different departments. Staying fit is one of the key things we encourage each and everyone thus having Zuma dance classes. These were led by the head ART department getting everyone in high spirit for what the day had to offer. Games like volleyball, and dodgeball saw many participate. Bust the balloon got many having so many tricks up their sleeves to best win. Twister was the ultimate game for everyone seeing many wanting to be the last man standing.
The head of the department Ms. Marion continuously urged the nurses to live a life like that of Florence Nightingale which is “Serve beyond Self”.
The day was concluded with word from the HR department, thanking all the Nurses for the tremendous work they are doing, for taking the time to be available, and urging them to keep up with the good work they are doing for it is not just work but a calling with great blessings.
