We provide care for all pregnant women and manage high-risk pregnancies as well as comprehensive prenatal services and delivery for mothers and babies .

OBSTETRICS

At Bethany women’s hospital, we provide the utmost inpatient and family-focused care and our commitment is that every mother goes home with a live and healthy baby. We provide care for all pregnant women and manage high-risk pregnancies. The facility provides labor analgesia too.

Our comprehensive pregnancy services include:

General Obstetrics and gynaecology – BWHU provides comprehensive prenatal services and delivery for mothers and babies as well as routine and special gynecologic care;

Maternal- Fetal Medicine (High- Risk obstetrics) BWHU provides advanced, multidisciplinary care for women who are identified with complications prior to or during pregnancy. Specialty clinics include the maternal cardiovascular clinic, maternal diabetes clinic and a clinic for women at risk for preterm delivery or cervical incompetence.

Midwifery provides expert midwife care for mothers and babies before, during and after birth;

Newborn Medicine, which is staffed by expert neonatologists and other specialists, cares for newborns at Bethany Women’s Hospital Uganda.

Subspecialty Services works with specialists in departments across BWHU to address the needs of pregnant women with co-existing medical conditions – including cardiovascular disease, epilepsy, lupus, diabetes, and bone and joint disease.

GYNAECOLOGY

Comprehensive, patient-focused management of gynaecologic problems, including management of contraception, pain and bleeding problems, abnormal pap smears, and complications in early pregnancy. We offer full gynecologic services to women with complex problems and complicated medical issues.

General Gynaecology

The Program provides patients with the full range of gynaecologic care. From routine examinations and diagnosis to treatment, our physicians use the latest research, technologies, procedures, and surgical options to treat all gynecologic conditions.

Gynaecologic Oncology

At BWHU, we provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary evaluation, treatment and follow-up for patients with suspected or proven pre-invasive or invasive gynecologic malignancies, including ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vulvar, vaginal and trophoblas-tic cancers.

Infertility and Reproductive surgery

Committed to the highest quality of care. We want to be known for our high success rates and helping build healthy families.

Minimally invasive and gynaecologic surgery

Comprehensive range of advanced, minimally invasive procedures for uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, endometriosis, pelvic organ prolapse, cervical incompetence and ovarian cysts.

Pediatric and Adolescent gynaecology

Providing comprehensive gynaecologic care from birth to age 22. A multidisciplinary staff, comprised of physicians, nurses and social workers, provide treatment for a wide variety of illnesses as well as routine gynecological exams.

Urogynaecology

Comprehensive and advanced treatment for urinary incontinence, including many minimally invasive and office-based procedures.

Family Planning

We offer a full range of family planning options, including one to one counseling of our clients and allowing them to a make an informed consent on which option is based for them.
